Alan Barrington & Papa Daddy

We're pleased to welcome Alan and his band Papa Daddy back to our stage!
A triple threat- songwriter, singer and storyteller now based in South Carolina, Barrington has brought his unique
acoustic new folk and blues sound to audiences throughout the country. He has been credited with creating
heartfelt and well-written songs which are sung in an immaculate voice, one which is capable of encompassing both
his native West Coast and adopted East Coast southern charm.  According to The Charlotte Observer, Barrington's
music is introspective, sometimes delicate work, full of personal observations and emotional sketches. The
Observer adds that Barrington offers nicely crafted folk-pop along the lines of David Wilcox or Pierce Pettis.

~Live Acoustic Duo~
The Port Authority

Bob Paolino & Don Berg are BAAACK!!!!
These guys are one of Salisbury's favorite local duos and they were one of the first groups to perform here at 'The
Vine'!  These two began playing together at the former Vintage Port where they dubbed themselves The Port
Authority and the name stuck!  Each brings a wealth of musical background and experience to the stage
encompassing everything from the Beatles to the Blues!  Bob and Don have both graced our stage as solo
performers but they really shine when they get together to make music!  I guarantee you'll want to
sing along and
will be
tappin' your toes long before the first song is over!
These two always deliver a great time!

~Live Acoustic Folk & Blues~
Ian Thomas

We are pleased to have Ian return to our stage!
Ian Thomas' debut album is a
"fast, focused, forward-looking" powerhouse of acoustic blues from one of the most
honest and engaging undiscovered singer-songwriters of our time.  After traveling the country for years with a
guitar and a knapsack strapped to his back, Ian Thomas gave up the wandering life and settled into New York City,
busking for cash and living out of a beaten-up 1977 Toyota Corolla. It is this unusual life story that forms the
backdrop of "A Young Man's Blues", an album that is as mired in the confusion and paranoia of the modern world
as it is rooted in traditional American folk and blues.
You'll love Ian's energetic and engaging performance accompanying himself on guitar, harmonica and kazoo!

Ned Lucas Band

We welcome this dynamic Blues Band back to our stage for a second helping!
The NED LUCAS Band is a 3 piece, high-energy band that plays original blues and rock & roll. With 2 critically
acclaimed CDs that have received airplay worldwide and a list of venues from Ottawa, Canada, to Columbia, SC
and from Detroit to New York City, this band knows how to please a crowd. Mixing fresh versions of classic Swing,
Chicago, Texas, and Delta blues, and a few Classic Rock covers with a load of dynamically arranged originals,
people talk about this band long after theyve left town. NED LUCAS has been doing this a while. Playing a Fender

instantly recognizable. As soon as you hear The Tone, you know youre in for something special. NED LUCAS also
plays a Hammond B3 with a 2nd Leslie cabinet just to spice things up.

~Live Folk/Roots Music~
Tammerlin

Since 1992, Lee Hunter and Arvid Smith -Tammerlin have been placing their own stamp on folk/roots music.
What you’ll hear is exceptional guitar work accompanying clever original songs and traditional tunes pulled from
the roots of American music-
a little bit folk, pop, country, old time, British Isles and blues-with some world music
flavorings.
Always aiming to convey their passion for these stories to the listener…
this is the magic of the music of Tammerlin.
As Tammerlin takes on more and more original material, Lee Hunter is usually the one wielding the pen. She
handles rhythm guitar duties and most of the vocals with a voice that one Florida music magazine called
“haunting, passionate, and powerful”. Whether the song recalls a tragedy, a lover’s longing or a light-hearted
take on everyday experience-it is the perfect instrument around which to build a sound.
“A wizard on the silver strings” is how Britain’s New Musical Express described Arvid Smith’s approach to the
guitar. Smith is a man in love with strings with a collection of instruments to prove it. He’s been categorized as a
“fingerstylist”, a description that is simultaneously apt and inadequate. He plays a mean slide and some pretty
rockin’ electric as well. Possessed of a high level of skill and a cleverness to match,
he can “pick the splinters out of” a guitar or coax and cajole the gentlest of sounds.
The music of Tammerlin takes the listener on a journey-a journey through time, although it’s anything but linear-
constantly moving forward, always reaching back. Whether you hear them as a duo or collaborating with talented
friends, the sound is rich, full, fascinating and just a step off of the well-beaten path.
